God's Perspective

Do you feel like no matter how hard you try to get out of debt, it seems that you get
deeper and deeper in debt instead?
Do you continue to be plagued with bad financial decisions and need some spiritual
direction?
Would you like to know how scripture lines up with your long-held beliefs on money?
Do you feel that God is not answering your prayers to help you financially?
Maybe it is not your lack of answered prayer that is hindering
you from enjoying God's blessings, but rather it could be your
attitude towards money that is causing your blessings to be
hindered instead.  Don't feel bad because you are not alone!
Most of us christians are truly unaware of God's perspective on
money.  This page is dedicated to help you understand God's
perspective.  Be prepared for an eye-opener!
Laws on Ownership
Let's begin with ownership.  Maybe it is your belief that the money you make from
working belongs to you and it is up to you to decide how much to give to the Lord.
Let's compare this to scripture to see how God see's things.
1 Chron. 29:11 says,
"Everything in the heavens and earth is yours, O Lord...",
again in Deut. 10:14,"
To the Lord your God belong... the earth and everything in it".
 When we
acknowledge God's ownership of
everything including "our" money, then our attitude
changes towards money.  We then become accountable for everything we do with the
money that the Lord entrusts to us and our financial decisions now become "spiritual"
decisions that require prayer and careful consideration and thought.  We will now
question our spending habits and start asking ourselves "what would God have me do
with
His money" rather than "how am I going to manage my money".
Laws on Tithing
Not enjoying God's financial blessing these days?  Maybe it's because you are not
tithing.  Did you know that in the old testament under Mosaic Law God commanded the
Israelites to tithe?
Deut. 26:2-10 "...take some of the firstfruits of all that you
produce...put them in a basket... Place the basket before the Lord your God and
bow down before Him."
He goes on to instruct us in Deut. 26:12,"When you have
finished setting aside a tenth of all your produce in the third year, the year of the
tithe, you shall give it to the Levite, the alien, the fatherless and the widow, so
that they may eat in your towns and be satisfied."
The Levites were the priests that
God had specifically ordained to work in the Temple.  Their job was to attend to all the
priestly duties required-they were to live off of the tithe offering and that is how they
made their living.  Their responsibility was to take care of the Temple and make
sacrifices for the people of Israel.  If you are not tithing to your local church to support
the ministry that feeds you spiritually each week, then God considers you as robbing
Him personally.  Read in
Malachi 3:8-12, "Will a man rob God?  Yet you rob me.
'But you ask, 'How do we rob you?' "In tithes and offerings.  You are under a
curse-the whole nation of you-because you are robbing me.  Bring the whole
tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house.  Test me in this,"
says the Lord Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven
and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it.  I will
prevent pests from devouring your crops, and the vines in your fields will not cast
their fruit," says the Lord Almighty.  "Then all the nations will call you blessed,
for yours will be a delightful land," says the Lord Almighty."
Are you living a life of consequence?  Substance? Fulfillment?
Jesus was the firstfruits of sacrifice given to us by God Himself.  The laws of sacrifice
release blessing into our lives.  Jesus stated that it is more blessed to give than to
receive.

Five Principles of Financial Success

Kingdom Advisors states that there are five principles of financial success:
  1. Spend less than you earn. Proverbs 13:11," Dishonest money dwindles away,
but he who gathers little by little makes it grow."
  2. Avoid the use of debt. Proverbs 22:7, ""Just as the rich rule the poor, so the
borrower is servant to the lender."
  3. Build liquidity. Proverbs 6:6-8," Go to the ant, you sluggard;  consider its
ways and be wise!  It has no commander, no overseer or ruler, yet it stores
its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest."
  4. Set long-term goals. Phil 3:14," I press on toward the goal to win the prize for
which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus."
  5. Believe that God owns it all. Psalm 24:1, " The earth is the Lord's and
everything in it, the world, and all who live upon it."
